Exhaust opinions with current tp
HI everyone I'm somewhat new to this forum and haven't really posted yet and just had a quick question to everyone.
i have a 2009 nissan 370z with stock exhaust except z1 motorsports test pipes that were installed recently. I'm in the market for a new exhaust and needing some opinions on what you guys think would sound good? also for got to add that currently my test pipes are making a bad rattle sound and I've looked under the car when it was on a lift and even had a performance shop here check it out and they said it was fine but still continues the issue anyone know what this is?? |

Almost anything is going to get real loud with test pipes. I'm not sure if thats what you are looking for. Sound or performance?
I prefer the mellow tone to a car, otherwise a nice headache can ensue. I would go Y-pipe, into a mid-pipe and retain the factory muffler or Y-pipe into the Stillen Catback which I have heard and is pretty mellow. But thats me, you may want everyone on the block looking at you like you are 18yrs old and driving a car with super powers, in which case you could go Y-pipe into AAM's mid pipe and run their Short tails. Basically a full straight pipe exhaust.

haha yes i am 18 but I'm not flashy about the vehicle. i drive it resposibly but other then that but I'm shooting for more performance with a tone that wont annoy me while daily driving. i find the test pipes i have currently to be a bit raspy

Are the TP's resonated? If not, I'd swap in a set for less rasp. Other than that, you will hear some rasp with any set-up -- it might be a bit less if you switch from a Y to a H-pipe as the H equalizes the pressure waves coming from each bank and helps neutralize the harsh resonance.
