Straight pipes
Hello,
I got these custom straight pipes which delete the mufflers and it gets extremely loud above about 4k rpm to the point i hear parts of the car vibrating. I'm running stock cats and everything else. I was wondering if this is normal or might damage something from the extreme vibrations. Also do these straight pipes increase back pressure and reduce torque or hp somehow? Thanks, |

Lol no you'll be fine. And they wouldn't increase pressure, they'd decrease it. Back pressure is kind of a myth. Exhausts have more to do with scavenging and a muffler delete will not help nor hurt it.

Lol whoops I meant decrease back pressure, but does that vibration thing happen to all cbe with loud noise or is it just my ghetto thing? Cause I'm thinking of getting a cbe or top speed axle back but if it's the same thing might as well keep mine.
Thanks for the help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just a nissan thing. It's just a cheap Japanese car spot welded together. Things rattle. A CBE will have a bigger/better mid pipe and X or Y or H pipe. Sound and rattle won't change much unless you buy a reall quite CBE.

Not exactly. Too much flow when the engine isn't drawing in enough air /or there is too much valve timing (typically, at lower RPMS) to match the exhaust will slow down the exhaust pulses.
But anyway, yeah, the VQ37HR sounds like a tractor without cleverly placed resonators. You can add resonators strategically to minimize the noise -- there's a thread on this floating around.
