Stillen gen3 indent in top pipes

What's going on everybody, new here and to the Z community and I'm loving it so far. Got myself a 40th Anniversary M6 with 22k on it a couple weeks

First thing did was order a Stillen gen 3, some sort of exhaust is next. Love the intake, can't attest to a substantial increase in power although I know there is evidence out there. Sound is definitely improved from stock.

As stated in the title, when I got the intake everything was packaged very well. Looking at the throttle body side of the top pipes there seems to be a small indent in the lip of both of them. I know it wont cause any problems but just thought it was a bit odd... Is this the normal design?

Came out great though, definitely impressed with the quality even though it was a bit pricey. Bunch of kids were crowding around and asking questions towards the end of the install... as I'm in a big college town. Also took off that horrible license place bracket blocking the view

That's what I figured... I dont think it will make much of a difference but it's odd for them both to be damaged like that.

I think it will make more of a difference than you think...
I'd straighten it out

Hey waahbahbopbop,

The pipes are not suppose to be bent like that. Did you order those Directly from STILLEN? Was the box damaged at all? That would be warrantied under our manufacture defect warranty. Let me know if you would like to exchange them for a new set.

Thanks for the concern, I did not order them directly through Stillen. The intake came from a VA based company called Nissan Autosports. The packaging was great actually that's why I was puzzled. It was still in the original Stillen box as far as I know, not sure if the warranty still applies?

Hello waahbahbopbop,

First off...I can't help but repeat your screen name while thinking of a rally car...

In regards to the intake tubes, as long as you were the original purchaser then yes, we would definitely warranty the purchase for you. We are very familiar with the guys at Nissan Autosports. They have been carrying our product for quite awhile and are definitely a warranty covered reseller of our products.

These tubes are not supposed to be deformed like that. I'm really confused as to how this would have happened as it doesn't look like there are any witness marks on the tubes themselves which would lead me to believe it was done prior to or during polishing. However, if it were done prior to or during polishing that would mean that it would have gone through: polishing, final manufacturing inspection, receiving inspection, and assembly inspection without being noticed...That is unacceptable.

Please PM me with your address and we will send you a replacement tube. Is it just the one side or was it both sides?

I have been hard on both of these Stillen guys when I was frustrated but right or wrong they both are trying to do their customers right and thats a lot more than some people do around here! No one is perfect but treating people right goes a long ways to me!

I am confused as well because the bends are on both sides. There were not any marks that indicated they had been dropped or bent after polishing. Sending you a PM and I'd be more than happy to send the original tubes back so you may have a look.

Much thanks for the great customer service, it's great to be on a forum again where people are so involved

That is interesting that they still fit over the throttle bodies even with the bends on them.

Hats off to Stillen for standing behind the quality of their products!
