Megan Test Pipes = Poopy
Some of you may know that I installed Megan test pipes on my 2012 Nismo about a year and a half ago, along with K&N intakes and a tune. Over the last few months I have been noticing that my exhaust was sounding a little "off" and a couple weeks ago I got a SES light. I reset the light and it came back about 400 miles later. (P2A03) I assumed I must have an exhaust leak somewhere and the most logical place would be from the test pipes, since everything else in the exhaust is stock Nismo stuff.
I took my car back to Jotech who did the original install and they found a crack in the passenger-side test pipe. When we removed it and looked inside, we found that the resonator had disintegrated and the pieces were rattling around inside. We decided to replace the test pipes with ARK test pipes (the ones that look like they have tumors growing out of them). Instantly I noticed a big difference, not only in sound quality (much better), but low-end throttle response and torque. The car never drove this good. It's so much more fun now. So in summary, Megan = poopy and ARK = not so poopy (for now at least). To be fair, the Megan pipes were $150 compared to $650 for the ARK pipes so we are not comparing apples to apples here. Hopefully, these will last me more than 18 months.

Megan is cheap knockoff garbage. It's the best of the crappy Chinese knockoff companies, but it's still crap. I had to take a hammer to the firewall of another car in order to fit a header they made. The O2 bung wasn't even in the same zip code as where it needed to be.

Megan is what Jotech recommended at that time (for test pipes anyway). I didn't have any problem paying more.

Sorry, I have owned 2 sets of Megan test pipes and an exhaust. They work great. 1 failure in a lot, is just a part of modding, this isn't Mishitimoto

Oh, I completely agree. Those kids over there made me a great iPhone.
I've just had a bad experience with Megan's fitment. You're correct, it's worlds better than mishimoto.
