Default Berk HighFlow Cat with muffler delete:- Lost low end response!

Hi,

Has anyone experienced lost in low end power/throttle response after installing Berk high flow cat coupled with a muffler delete? With the muffler delete alone it felt great but today, after the HFC installed, I felt a lost in power and throttle response. Will this improve after ecu adaptation? I drive a 7AT.

Cheers!

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for a minute, then reconnect. Then drive the car really hard, redline it a few times. That will allow the ECU to relearn.

Been there... Back pressure keeps your low end power/torque but restrict to the top/peak power. HFCs free up the back pressure thus you lose your low end power but gain at top. That's nature of the beast. I don't really think reset ecu will do much. Your best bet is to have your car tuned. That will increase your drivability.

Take this for what it's worth, but when I put the PPE Long tube race headers on my car, the butt dyno said there was a loss in power from 2.5-4k RPM, but the real dyno said it picked up power. The others' advice about clearing the learned fuel data via battery disconnect is a good idea, you gotta drive it hard afterwards though if you want the ECU to adjust properly.

Thanks all for replying. Put my original mufflers back and it's punching strong again at the low end! However its much quieter now and I can hear some metal "zing" or buzz at high revs...think its from the HFCs?

Could definitely be from your combination of exhaust and HFC.

The HFC do increase flow through the exhaust so the increased sound is expected.
