AAM Short tails Nismo fitment install!
Well I installed my short tails with the 5in tips today courtesy of Khoi! Install was fairly painless. Took me about two hours. Mostly trying to find the right sockets and figuring out the exhaust hangers. Turns out the R one doesn't go on the left side of the car. Who knew?! Joking aside, the pipes went on easily. The left tip was just barely touching the bumper. Could have been my pipes or the hanger but some washers and pulling evened it out.
I had a friend start it up so I could hear it from the rear and HOLY EFF. I was greeted by a loud, deep rumble that idled cold like a V8 would. Warm it idles quietly and has a sexy purr. This exhaust is LOUD. One of the loudest exhausts with stock cats and pipes. The magical 3500 RPMs is just amazing. Such a deep and exotic note. All of my friends loved it. Comments ranged from agressive sounding to "that sounds like a race car". Th drone from 3500-4000K is pretty bad, but I like loud. This exhaust can be heard all the way down the street from the inside of a house. No joke. A friend came out and told me he heard me going down the road from his room in the back of the house. It brings a smile to my face every time I start it up. I am in love with this exhaust. I would like to thank Khoi for such an easy purchase and amazing deal. Free shipping was great. Exhaust arrived in only 2 days as well! If anyone would like this exhaust, PM him right now. You won't regret it. Word of caution...it's very loud. No video does it justice, but sounds great. Also, if anyone wants pictures of the setup, let me know and I'll grab some!

Glad your happy and Khoi is the man, I've asked him a million questions and always happy to help. I'm thinking of adding the AAM Mid-Pipe soon with my short tails. According to the website a Dyno proven +22 wheel hp +20 ft lbs of torque in conjunction with S-Line Short Tails on a non - Nismo 370. I'm dying to add a little more power with that monster sound coming out of my Z. It's like a new addiction since I bought my Z a month ago, but I guess as far as addictions go - better tuning your car than a lot of other things. Anyone with this combo ? I would love to hear your input ! |

Ok just an update after having the exhaust for a week. I am in absolute love. It sounds so mean and aggressive. My MPGs have taken a turn for the worst as I love hearing the sound through the rpms. The highway drone is almost non-existent. I cruise around 75 on the highway which puts the RPMs around 2500-2800. Drone starts after 3000, so cruising is great. Windows up driving, going through the gears can drone pretty badly, but if you shift early, its no problem. For having stock pipes all the way back, I don't know if an exhaust can be louder (which I love). I have gotten heads spinning just driving up. Something that never happened with the stock sound. Apparently I could be heard about a mile away from a friends house so again, LOUD. Overall I am more than happy with this setup. No video on youtube does this exhaust justice. I was shocked at how amazing it sounds in person. Every person I have met loves it (except my friends mom who was woken up by a "race car" driving down the street).
Thanks you Khoi! Please by this exhaust from him. Easy purchase and fast shipping! As requested, 5 inch tips, non-titanium. Sorry for the grainy pictures. iPhone+bad lighting
