AAM Short Tails installed tonight.

Installed AAM short tails tonight on my 2013 Z, special thanks to Khoi for the great customer service. I must say the sound clips and videos don't do these justice.

Default AAM Short Tails installed tonight.

Installed AAM short tails tonight on my 2013 Z, special thanks to Khoi for the great customer service. I must say the sound clips and videos don't do these justice. I need to cruise with the windows down till I get use to them, if loud is what you want. Don't think you'll be disappointed and great burble at low throttle back off. Happy with the full range, except windows up rear buzzing in the hatch. I removed heat shield, made sure spare was tight, lined license plate with rubber stick on 1/4 inch thick pads to prevent vibration fixed all tie down hooks and a few other things and still a bit annoying from 3-4 thousand RPM, but you want to play I guess that's just part of it ?

Good to hear! I am installing mine tomorrow! Can't wait to get them on. Anything that gave you trouble? Stuck bolts, fitment issue?

Thanks for the review OP! There are a lot of threads from people chasing rattles in the trunk area, apparently this is very common once you go with a "louder" exhaust set up

Agreed. My friend had a turboXS exhaust for the 350...my god that was loud and rattled badly. I believe he isolated the problem and used bits of tire as a silencer to stop it. Worked well. Can't wait to get mine on!

I have no interior at all and there is a metallic buzz around 3-4k rpm. I think it's some piece of sheet metal in the body back there doing it.

I love the aggressive sound, it sounds mean. I wouldn't say I'm unhappy with the 3-4k buzzing, you take the muffler off a car and your going to get a few things that aren't perfect. I'd say if you want loud, you'll get your money's worth. I have 2013 Z and it never saw a winter, but I soaked the bolt with WD40 a few days before I did the job and a 14mm socket and a 18" breaker bar - no problem. Install was a simple one man job, I'm no F1 technician or any technician for that matter and I thought it was no sweat. I had excellent customer service from Khoi at AAM and have loved cruising around with the windows down the last 2 days. Car just sounds bad ***.

After installing the short tails, is it recommended to disconnect the negative battery terminal to "reset" the ECU?

I would highly recommend the AAM Pipes i got mine about 5-6 months ago and people always ask me "what system you got on that thing?" Its loud when it needs to be and low and gurgily when it needs to be. Its not ear bleeding loud like some members might say. I have the short tails on with a CAI the combo sounds sweet! I defininetly recommend the AAMs best money you will spend on your car to add that extra flare!

You don't have to as there isn't enough difference in flow that your ECU won't automatically correct for
