Intercooler water spray
I've searched around the forum and google, and there isn't much info on intercooler water systems.
Spraying mists of water onto the intercooler could significantly lower the intake temperature, increasing O2 density and performance. I don't really see a downside to the system since the water evaporates as it gets sprayed, which means it doesn't get inside the intakes or anything. The stock CAI isn't located near the intercooler so I dont think water would get in there. Are there any cons to using intercooler water sprays? |

If you have a intercooler sprayer most of the time it's nitrous because it actually really cold when it comes out. Other than they you are wasting your time using water. You might be confused with an air to water intercooler. Otherwise, I don't see what your asking or trying to do with an intercooler sprayer being N/A

I still think even w NA the lower intake temp could help, otherwise people wouldn't be spending 500 on stillen g3 cai for that cooler air temp. plus a custom sprayer kit would prob cost around 300.

... Can we first see your NA intake system that has an intercooler??? The reason there isn't an intercooler on NA setups is because there isn't anything to increase temp or PSI over the ambient temp.

I went to home depot and made a cold air intake with dryer duct. $20 and done. Connected to my K&N setup nicely. Dropped my temps from 50-60 degrees above ambient to 10-20 degrees. I got the K&N typhoon setup for half the price of the drop-ins.

The reason people buy the G3's and other CAIs is because they are proven HP gains. Why spend 30K+ on a sports car then cheap out? To each their own with their budget and needs. Yes you can make your own CAI with above tactics and or use PVC piping. Does it look great? No IMO. Does it work? Sure/Maybe... Are their gains to be made? Idk do it and dyno your car. But your spending cheap dollars to avoid the real deal then money on a dyno session to find out you may possible have lost HP and money on your jimmy rig attempt to save cash. Do it right the first time and go with what's proven. Patience is a virtue.
