Default Got my Stillen CBE installed today

Hey Guys,

I've been pretty quiet for a while since work has been incredibly busy.

But guess what? I finally came around to ordering my Stillen exhaust and getting it installed today.

While it's early days with it and the pipes are just getting burnt in properly I have to say that I like the piece very much.

Yes, it came on the market as one of the first, but that's exactly why I ordered it in the end: it puts down really good power, many people have put thousands of kilometres on it (and you can feel how sturdy it is) and they will sell it for a competitive price now (thanks Kenny).

The one thing I had to adjust to is the diameter of the exhaust - the thing is big. The sound, however, is perfect in conjunction with the HFC's. Some hissing there, yes, but much less than with the stock exhaust that I had on previously. And much less than the Exoticspeed that was on before that (which was poor quality in the end).

As for the exhaust tips - they do not stick out at all. Which confirms what people have been saying of latest. The tips are pretty well aligned (all three exhausts I have had on the car were misaligned on the right - so I put it down to the build) and there is really good clearance to the crossmember (where the exoticspeed exhaust failed as well).

Day 1 - I am really enjoying the exhaust. Maybe the tips could have been a tiny weeny bit thinner, but I am sure I will get used to it.

Cheers.

I will post some pics tomorrow.

Maybe post some sound clips too? I was thinking about doing stillen CBE at one point, but the sound just seems too tame, too close to stock. What is your take? Does the sound seem to sound the same as stock only louder? Or is it a whole other beast? Anyway, congrats on the new exhaust! Enjoy it

Will follow up with pics and sound clip.

Comments are correct - this is not a quiet exhaust when you put your foot down. It's got minimal to zero drone when you are driving normally though. Really well engineered.

Changed from exoticspeed cbe as it had a faulty weld and was not 100 percent sealed. Also, it was producing annoying vibration (rattle) on my shifter from sitting on the cross member. Shame as it sounded good. No issues with the hfc though (despite cel).

Otherwise Still getting used to the diameter of the tips. They're pretty biiig.

Sorry guys, I am traveling for work at the moment. This was the best I could over the weekend. The exhaust aligns really well - seemingly even better so now after driving about 50km with it on Sunday. Hard to tell from the pic, but both tips are really not stiking out at all as has been reported from time to time.

Wow - mine essentially pretty much align with the end of the fender. I am totally stoked about it....

I finally got around to installing my Stillen cbe. The tips I personally like. The exhaust sits sturdy and secure. There are a lot of slip joints but the power is there!! 6th to 5th, 5th to 4th on the freeway has pull. The clearance on this cbe is amazing as well! You can slam your Z and have zero scraping issues with this exhaust. Unlike the oem pipes that hang low at stock height and scrape(at least for me they did) and the FI cans. The noise level is not as loud as other cars that I have driven with cbe’s but it’s there. Definitely not stock. I consider it none ricer tone more of a grown man type of exhaust note. Then again I have only put a couple hundred miles on it and seems to be getting louder. So I can only imagine what it would be like once complete with HFC, CBE, CAI.

Does anyone know what kind of mufflers stillen uses? Are they straight through or baffled? I have been thinking of getting them cut out and replacing them with straight through mufflers to increase the sound.
