HKS exhaust installed today, 2 weird things i noticed
First wierd thing i noticed was.
The black shield that is suppose to be removed for this exhaust is no longer there? I have a 2012, and the car was bought brand new from a dealer, it was never messed with. But it didn't have the emissions shield? Someone chime in if they started removing these. Second, My car no longer wants to rev pass 5k on neutral sitting still. (I just wanted to hear the new exhaust) When i had my tanabe exhaust i was able to rev pass the 5k limit or atleast thats how i remember it, i rarely revved it so maybe there was always a limiter but i didn't notice. Can someone also chime in on this??? Last edited by FairladyZ; 11-30-2012 at 03:43 PM. |

If your car is in neutral it will not go past 5k. Needs to be clutch-in and in gear for it to go to 7500.

wow thats wierd.... maybe im not looking at the right thing? From what i can tell though, my exhaust from underneath is not in contact with anything? So its on the passenger side muffler correct? And if it is there one of the corner gets in contact with the muffler??? Last edited by FairladyZ; 11-30-2012 at 04:40 PM. |

It would be on the passenger side. I also had to bend the silver exhaust sheild on the passenger side so the muffler had room to clear it and add heat wrap to the lines.

Yeah dude..... I DONT have a shield, i just went outside and took pictures.. My car was brand new from the dealer. I also did not have to bend anything or do anything else special. The exhaust bolted right up and fits perfectly. It doesn't contact anything. I don't know. My first 1/3rd part of the exhaust is also a differnet design, its separated and i had to bolt those together. (The Y pipe) Last edited by FairladyZ; 11-30-2012 at 04:54 PM. |
