Default Intercooler water spray

I've searched around the forum and google, and there isn't much info on intercooler water systems.

Spraying mists of water onto the intercooler could significantly lower the intake temperature, increasing O2 density and performance.

I don't really see a downside to the system since the water evaporates as it gets sprayed, which means it doesn't get inside the intakes or anything. The stock CAI isn't located near the intercooler so I dont think water would get in there.

Are there any cons to using intercooler water sprays?
