Default Z1 Silicone Post-MAF Intake Hoses Installed

Ordered the Z1 Motorsports Post-MAF Intake Hoses on Friday morning and Z1 shipped them out that day. FedEx dropped them at my doorstep on Saturday afternoon. Yep, they're a few bucks more than some others, but Z1 deserves credit for being a true supporter of the Z Car, and thus earn my support.

So, the process was simple after learning from others on this board (thanks!).
Tools:
- Ratchet
- 14mm socket (strut brace)
- 10 mm socket (airbox)
- Pliars
- Screwdriver
- Marvel Mystery Oil

Removed the upper strut brace which made it easy. Used a drop of Marvel Mystery Oil to make it easy to slide on the new silicone tubes. For those of you young guys who didn't have the joy of growing up in the world of mechanical fuel injection, Marvel Mystery Oil is the bomb (do people stay say that - jeez I'm old) for lubrication of fuel injection internals. I removed the 10mm bolts on the air boxes in the corner for a little greater movement. All in all, it took 45 minutes from start to finish.

It also works great for the oil in 240Z SU carbs!

Tubes look great

I've only driven it once since putting them on and having only had the car for about 3 weeks, I'm afraid my butt dyno is not sensitive enough to feel any potential power gain. Soundwise, don't really hear much if any difference.

Getting drop-ins and exhaust next so hopefully these first 3 mods will make the car feel a bit more responsive and sound better. Stock, the car just feels like it needs some help breathing above 5000 rpm.

Thanks. I think they look good too. The Marvel gets use in my garage for one car with Webers and another with mechanical fuel injection. Terrific stuff!

I actually look at these today while at Z1. Even though I can't use them. They felt very well made.

I have to tell you it's so great to live where there are two great Z shops basically in your backyard.

Really nice! Have them in red. But for a while had to scratch my head, for what reason are supplied that metal connectors. Instruction manual missing, so mounted it without them. Just like you, but will write to Z1, for what reason them supply them? BTW: connected it independently on your pics. So guess, that is only possible to install like other silicone hose kits?
