Default Induction noise muted with Cold AIr Intake?

I was thinking of upgrading from Stock intake and everything locally available here in Perth, Australia seems to be a CAI - if I just want to go for a normal long-tube that still has the filters in the engine cabinet (for instance the stillen ones in the link below) then I have to import from US at high shipping and import costs.

So, I have a quick question: if I went for a CAI locally sourced here in Aus (for instance the GKTECH one at the link below) is it going to muffle the intake sound in a non-pleasant way? I ask because I've heard mixed reviews that CAI don't sound as satisfying, but I don't know if this is a fact or just some random opinions.

Cheers guys:

I just installed a long tube (similar to the the GK Tech. (SOHO) ) and I didn't notice any extreme sounds over stock.

Obviously there is a slight change but nothing annoying or noticeable while driving. With hood open, the engine sound drowns out most noises anyway. (unless extreme)

Cant' speak for the Gk tech. Prepare for a possible Tune as well. (LOL)

Don't use anything that ingests heat soaked engine compartment air. High IAT's cut timing, which kills power.

Im curious, do the stock airboxes get heat soaked? I know the Stillen intakes relocates filters to right behind the bumper.

Maybe If your pushing the car hard enough (which would be at the limit for extended periods) Or sitting in traffic "idling" after driving which any filter wouldn't be able to mitigate. Otherwise they are adequate and placed well enough to pull in outside cooler air form the front frame ductas. Most of the time aftermarket "cold air intakes" increase the volume of air being brought into the engine relating to increased diameter not so much the Inlet air temps in cases where the stock unit was designed well.
