Remark V2 - Pictures fitted to a Nismo
Hi,
I'm pretty sure a Remark V2 is probably the way to go for me, I am wanting a slightly louder than stock noise but nothing too obtrusive! Drone's not the end of the world as I don't use the car for everyday, but I dislike raspy exhausts. I was hoping to find pictures of one fitted to a mk2 Nismo? Ideally from square on the rear to see how visible the mufflers are, and also side on would be great so I can get an idea of far it sticks out. It seems the V2 is principally designed to fit the non-Nismo models, being that it's 4.5", so would this also means it sits too far in? Generally I like a recessed look but don't want to risk it melting anything, if that's likely or been experienced by anyone before? The other option is the AAM S-Line, but I think that's going to be a little too quiet, and I'm not sure the look from the rear is so good as those muffles are quite big (and I presume a pretty heavy exhaust too?). Cheers! |

Have you looked into FI TDX? Slightly louder than stock and clean/smooth sounding...if that makes sense. It has a deep tone and not raspy. This is IMO.
Edit: Ok, my bad. I didn't realize the remark is an axle back. The FI I mentioned is a CBE. If you are interested in just a axle back, may I suggest the top speed? It's known as the "ebay" axle back exhaust around here, but it actually has a lot of good reviews on it. I personally had it and I thought it was the best bang for buck when it came to exhaust sound. There is no rasp and it sounds very good when you step on it. The rumble is way better than stock, especially when you start it up. You can tell the difference as soon as you install it. It's relatively cheap too. I'm sure the remark is of better quality, but you can't go wrong with the top speed. Again, my subjective opinion. I heard the AAM is louder and has more rasp. I was looking into it before I decided on the top speed, and I'm glad I went with that instead. I know I didn't answer your questions at all, but I hope I provided some insight. Yeah I was only looking to replace the rear axle back part, it seemed a waste to dispense with the Nismo system given it's a dual h-pipe setup, it's probably more than adequate (I'm not chasing power with this car).
I'll have a look at the Top Speed thanks, depends what's available in the UK I guess! Cheers |

Ah well the Remark V2 is off the menu, literally put it in the basket this morning and thought I better ask the question I did above to check bumper fitment etc. Come to look now and it's gone up £100 whilst in the basket, and their sales rep was rude not budging on offering it at the original price or even any discount to meet in the middle!
So I'll buy any exhaust I can as long as it's not from Torqen in the UK - gotta vote with your wallet sometimes! AAM or Top Speed then on the short list now. |

Hope this helps out. Its on a 14 Nismo, but you will get the idea. Don't go with AAM. Their fitment is awful and product is junk IMO. The Nismo exhaust is pretty good from the factory except it's weight. Sorry you had issue with the dealer. Try getting it from some one else.

Well, there you have it. AAM is out. Remark is still a possibility if you can find it, but I understand your bad experience. I personally think Top Speed is the way to go. Good luck!

Ok, good feedback on the AAM thank you.
Yeah does look spot on the V2 from the rear, any side shots? - but I don’t think it looks to be anywhere near short enough to cause melting. Doesn’t appear to be another importers in the UK, so I will need to drop a line to the US - see what I can potentially arrange myself with shipping. I’d rather buy an Akrapovic at twice the price and more, than give that dealer a penny based on how rude and dismissive they were! I’ve got an Akra on another car and they are quality items, just didn’t really want to spend that much if I can help it! |

Idk much about Akra on cars, but they are THE exhausts for motorcycles. Top quality and always great sounding. I didn't even know there was one for the Z or seen anyone have one

Yeah not cheap but the fit and finish, plus sound is always spot on. The slip-on as they call it (i.e axle back) is pricey but not mental compared to some of the JDM brands - but the price of the tailpipe trims are extra, and it’s like £700 for those which is insane.
You could in theory get the axle back Akra, and go to an exhaust shop to put some tips on, heck re-using the OEM Nismo tips on an Akra sounds like a potential cool plan!! (This is escalating isn’t it!!!) |
