Default Aftermarket cats???

Trying to determine what cats are on my '18 Z....I thought they were OEMs....but then I saw this "Z1" cut-out in the support brackets...which has me thinking these are aftermarket and not OEMs.

Can anyone tell me what I have here?

Will add pics once I get the file size down.

Thanks

OEM cats are pretty easy to identify.

They'll look like this:

Loud...not at all. In fact I just removed the OEM cat back system to install the Invidia Gemini cat back system to get some sound....which it does now.

Resonated test pipes...wow...never even gave that a thought....good think I live in a non-emissions area!

I think I may have finally figured-out a portion of my Z's history:
A past owner installed the Stillen Gen 3 intakes, and whatever these are along with an aftermarket exhaust system. Then before selling, they put the OEM cat back system back on.
OR...
The dealership I purchased from put an OEM exhaust system in order to sell.

Now I need to figure-out if a tune has been done...although probably not due to the two permanent error codes I have...(P0296, P0298 lean, post cat).

Is there a way to tell if a tune has been done?

Good news for me....Z1 Motorsports replied to me, telling me that these are indeed their high flow cats....they never sold resonated test pipes.

Just need to determine about the tune.....

Thanks guys.

With the car started and your cruise control off, hold down the cancel button and flick the set/resume button up or down and see if the cruise control light on the dash blinks. 1 blink for map 1, 2 blinks for map 2, etc.
As for what is on those maps??? (shrug)

Thank you.

I did the above and had no CRUISE lite at all....appears my assumption is correct...not tuned...hence why I have the permanent error codes set.

Once I verify that the exhaust-HFC joints are not leaking, time to spend a bunch of $$$ and get a tune.

That tune is going to wake your car up. Especially with those Z1 HFCs...

how did you not notice from the smell that it wasn't stock? lol

I have those HFC's and they reek but flows well
