Default My car lost the VQ noise completely? Help

About two weeks ago I launched my car for a friend but ended up not going through with it all the way due to traffic. Anyway, after the launch we both noticed something strange. That high pitch motordyne shockwave VQ noise we are all familiar with completely changed. My car sounds awkwardly deeper now.

I suspected maybe exhaust leak? Nope. Went to a good muffler shop and they didn’t spot any leaks anywhere.

Maybe a clogged cat? I’m not sure since I don’t have any loss of power and no check engine lights anywhere. OBD-2 scanner found nothing.. the car only has 30k miles and the cats probably have around 15k total mileage as I ran Art pipes for 2 years before switching back to stock cats.

What do you guys think the problem is with the car? (2015 Nismo)

Sounds like you blew a baffle out of the exhaust.

A great place to start. There's a good chance it's the problem and will be cheap & easy to check.

If it's happening at idle, that will make it a lot easier to find - just get a 3-5 foot piece of garden hose or similar, lay next to the car, put one end of hose to your ear, move free end of hose around the muffler (or other suspected parts) until the sound gets louder.

Doesn’t happen at idle only when you drive it after a certain RPM. I’ll do what you said later today.
