HFC noise?

Question HFC noise?

I already have CA intakes and a Motordyne shockwave catback exhaust. I love the way my car sounds. I'm about to order some z1 HFCs and then get a tune in a month or two, but I'm a little nervous that it's going to mess up the sound profile.

So, how is the sound after installing some HFCs, if you already have an exhaust?

HFCs in my experience add some rasp at high RPMs. I'm running Berk HFCs and a non-resonated Fast Intentions CBE with carbon fiber mufflers. Its loud, but I LOVE it.

Coming from the stock Genuine Nissan cats it will be louder and have more tone. With the Motordyne Shockwave exhaust your exhaust note will be more louder, have more tone and have rasp in the high rpm’s. Agreed you will either like it or you will not like it. Exhaust is very subjective here on this forum and everyone likes something different. Before you purchase HFC’s listen to someone’s Z in person or listen to some sound clips on YouTube. Also consider test pipes if you like a loud exhaust. Be careful using the Z1 gaskets that come with the Z1 HFC’s because they are well known to leak. I had to take my exhaust apart before because of the Z1 exhaust gaskets leaking beware. If you do decide to get the Z1 HFC’s just make sure to purchase different exhaust gaskets like the Berk,AAM,FI etc. With the Motordyne Shockwave exhaust I would go with the AAM or Motordyne HFC’s but that is my preference though.
