EDIT: Driver side PCV Elbow

Hello All,

I've just bought my 370Z and it looks like the previous owner had some AEM intakes in there before putting the stock ones back in (There is an AEM CARB sticker under my hood, and the wiper fluid bottle is in a different spot.)

The part with the arrow pointing to it in this picture shows the unit I am talking about. Upon inspection, this elbow is split where it starts going downward. (Maybe when the previous owner replaced the intakes.)

I believe I've found some replacement options, but can anyone please explain if running the car like this is very dangerous? I am not too sure what the system does.

The car seems to be running great, but I do get a low idle sometimes when warmed up and stopped. (seems to be caused by leaks in the intake hose line) Perhaps this is related?

Thanks for any help!

Those are known to break. Most replace them with the Z1 hoses. I did.

Thanks Rusty,

Yeah, the Z1 set looks cool, I may get them in the future.

Quick update: I took the advice on this thread:Broken Breather/PCV Valve? and used this part from Autozone: https://www.autozone.com/external-en...bow/721423_0_0

I haven't found any pictures of the replacement install yet though, so I took some. Very intuitive fix and easy to replace - just had to bend the bottom hose a bit to line up with the intake hole.

Upon testing, the throttle response feels better, and the car is idling with a bit more stability now, with or without AC.

Thats the air intake resonator. It helps control the airflow into the IM. Some people delete these and just run a vacuum hose. If theres a split, thats probably where your vacuum leak is coming from. Does your car sound louder than usual (which would be relative, since you just got your Z and whatever it sounds like is probably "usual" to you!)
