2015 NISMO Headers & Exhaust
Curious what results other NISMO owners experienced if they replaced their NISMO headers with aftermarket ones. Did you see a significant gain in HP and torque?
Second question is about retaining the NISMO cat back system and just doing a muffler delete coupled with adding high-flow cats (HFC). Has anyone done just this or did you replace the entire system? Did you see a significant gain in HP and torque? Did you go with HFCs? I'm contemplating just going with HFCs and the rear muffler delete unless there someone experienced a major gain in HP and torque. I'll definitely be replacing the upper and lower plenums and opting for an UpRev tune. |

Just for getting section right I will provide you with my two cents. Do a cold air intake, high flow cats and Fast Intentions exhaust and get an EcuTek tune by Sebastian at Specialty Z. All these things will give you more power, great sound and way better responsiveness. So do some reseach and reading and find out why these mods work. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I've done the FI LTH's, plus CBE, and the Stillen long tube intake. Ported my own intake manifolds. Tuned by Vince at RT Tuning. HP wise. I'm at 334 now. Stock was 279HP. Changing to LTH's was a PITA. THe right side was a breeze. The left side took a few hours. Room is tight on that side.

For the people who got their headers installed by a shop, how much did they charge to install?

Whatever the shop rate is in your area, and at least 6+ hours of labor.

Just to be clear, there are no such thing as "NISMO Headers". All 370s come with the same headers from the factory. I highly agree with Rusty's responses. The man knows what he's talking about. He's helped me out quite a bit over the past few years (THANKS RUSTY!!). Start with the intakes. If you want max gains, get a long tube system, such as the Z1 or the Stillen Gen 3. This will increase throttle response, add additional power and you will hear a noticeable growl under heavy acceleration. On the exhaust side, I purchased and installed a Fast Intentions cat-back last year and I LOVE it! I went with the non-resonated option with carbon fiber mufflers. I'm also running Berk high flow cats, so my Z is LOUD! Since it isn't my daily driver, I love it. If this is your daily, you may want to consider the 12" or 18" resonators. Your other bolt-on options are: 1. Porting/polishing or upgrading your throttle bodies 2. Aftermarket / ported and polished upper and lower intake manifolds 3. Headers - Have fun installing them! 4. Cats - Go for a reputable brand. I know others who have tried to save money here and have had major fitment issues. 5. Get a tune with EcuTek or UpRev. I went for a dyno tune as opposed to uploading a canned tune or sending data logs back and forth via email. Although a bit pricy, I think it was worth it. 6. Sprint Booster - Personally I love this device, it was much more noticable prior to my tune, but it still adds responsiveness even after EcuTek 7. Lightweight pulleys - Have fun installing them! If you're interested in porting and polishing, there is a member on here who does it for a reasonable fee. I'm running his throttle bodies and plan to have him do the same with my upper and lower intake in the near future.

Thanks for the words.
I'm not a fan of light weight pulleys tho. I have an ATI damper.

Depends on what you are looking for. LTH's gives a little more torque.

I have a 2014 Nismo. I replaced the the whole of the exhaust from Cats to the back with the AAM S-Line system about 11 months ago. It was a nice change from the stock Nismo exhaust. I waited about 6 additional months and then decided to swap in the Berk HFCs. The exhaust note was more aggressive after the swap and louder at start. A bit of drone appeared 2k to 2.3k on the tach. No codes in the ECU. I Just had the Z inspected in the Dallas area. They read the OBDII here as well when doing the state inspection. My car passed with full aftermarket Cats and Exhaust. I chose not to do the headers due to the limited space and overall pain in the *** factor of doing so. I do not have any regrets with this setup.
Had the car Tuned and Dynoed at JoTech in Dallas. After the tune the car gained 35 HP (281HP to 316HP) at the rear wheel. Discovered by accident during the initial tuning session that my fuel pump was toast (Screen clogged) and had to get a new one installed. I have since added the AAM cold air intake setup and need to swing by for a fresh tune checkup at JoTech. I'll let you know if the numbers change. Just my two cents worth.

My AAM view at Present.
So far: With the AAM pipes. No fitment issues. No Leaks or bad welds. If it fails, I'll post it here for all to see. Others may have had a bad experience, For me it has been positive.
I read the complaints here before hand. I considered myself warned, but I liked their pipe design over the competition. Also it was a phased purchase and I could have changed direction at any time.
