K&N Blackhawk Intake
So I have been looking for a decent intake for my Z, I didn't want a long tube one. I really didn't care about the HP gain, more concerned with sound and looks.
I was looking on eBay when I saw a guy selling a K&N Blackhawk that was 2 months old for $245.00 with free shipping. So I bought it and got to tell the black looks amazing under the hood and the sound is great, the car growls now. Just thought I would post for the guys like me that are looking more for sound and looks. Here's a couple of pics of it: |

The K&N Blackhawk short ram cold air intake does look very nice under the hood congratulations. If you are intrusted in a short ram cold air intake I agree that the K&N Blackhawk short ram cold air intake fits the bill. According to K&N air filters it does make some power on the 370Z but I have never seen any dyno sheets where the K&N Blackhawk cold air intake was used. There are some benefits to having a short ram cold air intake. Removing your K&N air filters to clean them or remove them and install new K&N air filters is a lot easier then having to remove and reinstall your front bumper cover just to clean or replace your air filters. Also you could always install drop in K&N air filters in your Nissan intake boxes your choice.

The K&N Blackhawk short ram HOT air intakes look nice but they do not breath well and are probably congesting the air flow to your engine. It would have been better to leave the stock intakes and just drop in the K&N air filters and add Z1 silicone tubes. You are concerned with aesthetics but not about performance or eventual engine issues? Do you have a clear polycarbonate hood so that everyone can take a look into your engine bay? To each his own, I guess.

If you don't care about losing a few HP's, and all you were after was improved aesthetics and a louder intake sound, then you did good.
