Default Installed Z1 Cold Air Intake today!

Here's the link to the album: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Did it myself took me probably 2.5 hours (without all the random pauses I had...total time for me was 6.5 hours! )

This was my first actual mod for my car (bought it in January) Overall easy install just pretty much looked at Stillen G3 DIY instructions and followed instructions from Z1 on their website. Overall pretty simple. After I installed, I took a 10 minute test drive and the car feels like it has a little more power. Throttle response is improved and it sounds fantastic when I step on it. Very happy with look and feel!

My one reservation with the Z1 intake is the silicon tubing through the radiator support. Did you notice if it crimps at all through the original intake ducts?

It does, and if I were to install it on my car, I'd still cut the opening bigger, lol

I took the core radiator support out per z1 instructions...no crimping after that!

Are you not worried that removing the core rad supports will cause some play or issues down the road? Nissan must have placed them in that spot for a good reason.

Maybe that's not the official name for what I'm thinking of then...All I removed was a plastic piece that supplies airflow to the stock air boxes. Serves no other purpose.

Here's what the instructions note: "Silicone Hose will conform to profile of through hole, however removing material
from Composite Radiator Core Support is advised for optimal performance." https://www.z1motorsports.com/upload...rIntakeKit.pdf

Those pieces are supposed to come out yes.

When they say "material" they mean to cut away some of the core to make the holes bigger for the tubes. Is it required? No. Z1, AFE, and AAM all use rubber tubes to give you the option to cut or not to cut. Stillen is hard pipe, requires cutting.

Your install looks great!
