Default AAM dhort tails with hfc's too loud?

2012 nismo currently has berke hfc's. I like the sound but Id like a bit more volume without spending too much . I like the titanium tips and price of the short tails but I wonder if it would be excessively loud . Anyone currently using these together ? suggestions?

I'm wondering the exact same thing. This is the thing I arrived at today is that the short tails eliminate the most "sound restrictive" piece of exhaust and I currently have Berk HFC's as well. And I'm seriously considering the Short tails to get the sound I really want. And I can always have a 2.5 inch diameter pipe or larger to increase flow later in life.

I have the AAM mid-pipe with short tails and don't find them too loud. It seems the sound has tamed a bit over time. I recently ordered FI non-res HFCs to get a bit more gain and sound. We'll see how they sound after I finally install them.

I think going with the short tails will be a good choice for what you are looking for.

I ran just Z1 HFC with the short tails for a while and it sounded great! It was loud, but personally I didn't find it "too loud" at all. Since then I've added the s-line mid-pipe, which increased the volume pretty noticabely.

Just put the tails on my '13 last night and coming from stock they are very loud, but they sound amazing. I've gotta be really careful and train myself not get to high in the RPM's in town.

depends on how loud you want to go.

if you currently have HFC's with oem exhaust and only want a little louder then i would say just go with a CBE system. removing the mufflers put it on a different level.

i run FI straight pipes typically but i have the setup made to allow me to swap back in my carbon fiber mufflers for things like state inspection and whatnot lol

That's mine, couldn't hear my sound system, had to wear ear plugs (+90db interior) for longer drives, and some interior plastic parts in the rear would start to rattle from the pressure waves. It was not enjoyable for getting from A to B for mundane tasks. It was very nice for wide open throttle and I do miss that, but I can't drive around like that if I just need to drop something off at the post office.

Very accurate statement. The hatch will rattle, RTP's didn't do much to help, and I reckon HFC's won't fare that much better.
