HFC in California? Emission test question
I have a question for those living in California:
I am moving to Orange County very soon and my current registration will last me till November. Obviously I need to get a new registration in Cali and I've heard emission rules are very strict. I have the Motordyne test Pipes and the Fast Intentions resonated Catback Exhaust. I read on their website that this setup is illegal in California because it eliminated the stock cat. Is that true? if so what are my options to pass the emission test? (I do not have the OEM cats anymore) Thank you everyone. |

No way, no how. You need OEM cats to pass the CA emissions inspection. The CA inspectors are required to visually inspect the car's emission system to flag illegal modifications to the exhaust system. The aftermarket CBE is fine. Look to eBay to pick up some OEM cats.
