Your opinion?

Looking to take off the OEM cats and put those aside for a long while haha being the most restrictive part of a 370z exhaust system. Looking for test pipes

Default Your opinion?

Looking to take off the OEM cats and put those aside for a long while haha being the most restrictive part of a 370z exhaust system. Looking for test pipes or HFC's

Being in CA test pipes are illegal but looking into them to have them for track and things like that for added whp.

I have the Fast Intentions 18" Resonated 3" exhaust system

3 questions I have that would like an answer to:

1. type of pipe (resonated/non-res test pipes or HFC's)
2. Brand name
3. Does it bolt onto the FI exhaust system?
4. opinion on the sound/noise gain and whp gain

Any and all opinions are appreciated

I see 4 numbers... In any case. I would say that if you are looking for something a little more quiet with no rasp or drone go for the HFC. With test pipes you will have drone and rasp there is no way around it unless you opt for the more expensive ART pipes.

Brand wise I don't think there is much difference. There might be a little bit of build quality difference in a super cheap pipe compared to a brand name pipe but most any pipe would work and should bolt up directly to the FI exhaust. That being said it might be better to just get the FI pipes.

As for gains, there is only a very slight difference between HFC and TP. I'm guessing maybe like 2whp. Now as for sound there will be drone once you change out your stock cats. And it will get worse going from Res HFC/HFC/ART pipes/Res TP/TP. There is also the factor that it will become more raspy. Which some people may find OK but most people don't like it because it doesn't make the exhaust note as 'clean'.
