Active Baffles
I recently received a loud exhaust ticket for the second time... In all fairness it is much louder than any other car I know of short of a drag car. PPE LTH + AAM MP + AAM Tails...basically full straight pipe.
I was wondering if anyone has tried fitting active baffles to an exhaust? Or is there an aftermarket Z exhaust with active baffles? I know many of the OEM's are offering them from the factory. Is there a way to integrate these into an existing exhaust? Are these typically pressure triggered or RPM signal triggered? I like how loud the car is at times but daily city driving and highway driving can be a bit over the top. I have been looking at a switch-able insert, meant to switch to a cut out, but as just an open to minimal flow insert. Has anyone seen this done before or is there an option on the market for something like this? Thank you in advance.

Armytrix is the only one out there, but I don't care for the price or the design. I have been asking around for the installation of an electric cut out but every time I take the car to a shop so they can have a look at where they can fit it they say they'll call me back after they do some more calculations and they never do. Space issue are pretty much preventing any cut out location from being viable is what I am thinking.

Wow. Armytrix was actually exactly what I was looking for. I thought I saw that it was Arkapovic but couldn't find it, so must have confused the two.
How much is the Armytrix Axle-back? That is the only piece that it seems I would need and I've only seen package quotes.

Armytrix is absolutely what you'd be looking for. Unfortunately, they only offer the cat-back system which includes the midpipe, variable muffler, chrome tips, and wireless control kit.
They have optional Y-pipe, catalytic converters (or cat delete pipe), and matte black tips available as well.

I decided to just put the stock cat back on. The long term plan may be to get the Armytrix cat back but the volume with the PPE headers alone, is good. This is the first time I have had this setup. The tone is the same as stock but moderately louder under acceleration. It is comparatively silent when going a constant speed, which is surprisingly welcome. I am still debating on the Armytrix as a future performance improvement but for now I will keep the stock cat back.
