Finally upgraded the exhaust system to FI

At 33k miles, the stock parts & bolts were pretty rusted (Boston winters, despite getting undercarriage washes on the regular). The guys at the shop gave the bolts on the stock cats the stink eye before finally agreeing to tackle them. I'm hanging onto the stock cats in case there are problems down the road, but the rest of the exhaust is basically scrap. Here are some pictures: |

I had a shop do it, Eastside Motoring in Waltham, MA. They do a lot of high end work and I've always had good results with them. In fact, they just installed my Stillen Gen 3 CAI.
Replacing the stock cats with HFC drives up the labor cost. If it had just been the catback exhaust, it probably would have taken an hour. Getting at the bolts for the cats turned it into a 2.5 hour job. It cost around $375 for the total install. |
