Default Wide band on stock catalytic converter

Hi everyone, just wanted to check if anybody here has installed a wide band o2 sensor on the stock cats. I want to install an Afr guage to better monitor my afrs but can't seem to find a lot of info on it. Thanks in advance.

You'll need to find a place upstream of the cat to weld in a new bung for the aftermarket O2 sensor. The car needs the O2s that are in there now, so you would need an additional sensor for an aftermarket gauge.

That location might end up having to be on the header. I don't know if there is enough room on the stock cat to weld that bung in.

For a setup with stock cats, why not just use the ecu supplied values? Get a scangauge or one of those OBD dongles?

Thanks for the input guys, just trying to find an easier way to install an Afr sensor. Going to install a stillen supercharger soon and wanted to keep an eye on the afrs. The headers might be a pretty hard install that's why would prefer to install on the cats but haven't seen any pictures or topic here on the forum.

Why can't he put one in the mid pipe? At the dyno they get their values from an exhaust enema. I've even seen it as just 2" in.

That's just for reference and not that accurate. These cars have wide bands and what the tuner will be using for tuning. Every car I've ever had tuned never went off the tail sniffer. We ALWAYS welded in a bung up front as close as possible or about 6" back from a turbo.
