Default HPS tubes arrived

I ordered these tubes to hopefully give me a little performance improvement. I have to say that the quality is not exactly what I expected. They are pretty flexible and seems they could change shape or slightly collapse. Not as rigid as I expected. Is this a valid concern at all? I realize they are pretty short, so maybe it's not an issue. I also don't like the hideous looking hose clamps, so I'll replace those.

Then there's the decision about using K&N filters. They provide better air flow but allow more dust/dirt to enter your engine. For now I'll stick with OEM filters and be sure to change them frequently.

I went with the Z1 tubes and they are good quality and solid as a rock. I've been running them for several months now with no issues. I also picked up some K&N drop ins, as I've used K&N for as long as I can remember, and have always been happy with them. Just have to ensure that they don't get over-oiled during the cleaning process.

I got up early and installed the tubes. They actually look better than I thought they would. The install took longer than I expected, but I also took my time to get everything positioned properly. I also had to trim the nipple on the passenger side to get everything to fit, and I used the stock hose clamps instead of the ugly ones that came with it.

Still debating about K&N filters...
