GTM Stage 2 TT Dyno Results - Finally
After 2 years from the day I had my GTM stage 2 TT kit installed I finally got a dyno done. At 3400ft here in Calgary at 9psi I got 485WHP and 370ft-lbs of torque. The tune is GTMs Canned tune for 93 octane fuel. Other than the standard turn key items I got an oil cool and 3" downpipes (ext waste gates) and 3" FI exhaust.
As you can see from the dyno print out my AFRs are REALLY low down to 10. Is it worth spending $1,000 on a custom dyno tune folks? All I'd really be getting is better fuel economy. Since I drive my car regularly I'm not too worried about plugging up the sensors in the exhaust. I am getting some backfire when I go full tilt so I'm thinking it may be worth it just for that. Maybe I could just send the GTM rom to Uprev and get the tune leaned out a bit. Suggestions? Thanks NOBLE |

Glad your Z is running smoothly, and putting down good power. I'm running canned tune 8.5 PSI 94oct from GTM as well for 2 years, mine has not seen a dyno yet.

Nothing really wrong with the canned tune from GTM. Lots of people are running it. With the UpRev logging tools you can monitor everything to make sure things are operating smoothly.

The canned tune is fine, just super conservative. You're right about too much fuel and not much timing causing the backfiring issues, but this is a safety net Sam has to do since each car is different. Some cars like more fuel than others, some like less. Same with timing, ect.
A custom tune will net more power and torque, clean up the driveability, air/fuel and help your MPGs. It will feel like a totally different car, if it's tuned by someone competent with UpRev.

Looks like the typical safe tune from GTM. I do not know their turn around right now but you can probably email it and have them lean it out some as you suggested already. I do not drive much but I had mine leaned out and picked up pretty big numbers in the mid range TQ.
