Don't take this negatively, but first off, you need to do a lot of reading on this forum and on the web in general about the available systems out there. Use the search function. Yesterday, I read a 39 page thread on S/C vs. twin turbos for our engines that's on this forum (GTM's original release thread from 2011). I thought I knew a lot already, but learned some specific knowledge reference how our cars react to both these systems.

Secondly, by your post we can tell that you have a lot to learn, in general, about performance upgrades (difference between a 25 row oil cooler and a trans cooler...).

Again, I don't mean to sound like I'm digging on you, but if your considering adding a s/c to your car, you better educate yourself. That's a ton of $$$ to think about spending, especially if you aren't knowledgable about these cars, the 3.7L motor, what's needed pre/post installation, etc, etc.

Get reading and good luck with the search!!

All of this. Plus, the AT does not do well with power over the 400-450whp mark. You can tinker with line pressure and a cooler, but you'll still have to deal with the clutch packs being too small in the higher gears. If you're set on this, figure the cost of the kit to be about half of the total build cost. There's a lot of other stuff you need, and it adds up quickly.

If you really want to bring yourself up to speed on the concepts in general, order these.

Maximum Boost: Designing, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems (Engineering and Performance): Corky Bell: 9780837601601: Amazon.com: Books

Supercharged! Design, Testing and Installation of Supercharger Systems: Corky Bell: 9780837601687: Amazon.com: Books

They're not Z specific and some info can be a little dated, but it's pretty much required reading for forced induction, specifically aftermarket forced induction.

I had my Stage 1.5 kit on my 2010 sport/touring 7at with 470 rwhp you will need a 25 row trans cooler (mine had a Spal 6.5in electric fan)and you should strongly consider at least a VB upgrade and if funds allow it a stage 4 trans from GTM.

The reason I have a Nismo now is b/c the trans started slipping 6 months after install with some pretty hard abuse.

Is this your first boosted car? Also, I wouldn't look into doing this if it is your DD. Adding that kind of power effects reliability no matter how gentle you are.... Plus the time between ordering and getting the kit is roughly five months (mine just shipped today)

If you get a good conservative tune and keep on maintenance, using it for a DD is fine.

Yeah but how many people actually do that. Well the smart ones at least. I know too many people that boost their cars, don't do any maint or supporting mods (cooling and such). And then bitch to the company when their motor pops.

Guy on here Niztalgic, has been running his supercharged Nismo as his daily for a years now. Pretty conservative tune I believe around 440whp and he romps on it pretty often. Not that he doesn't make quite a bit of money and has plenty of vehicles to back up but he's never had any down time since the install.

If you don't do all the supporting mods and cooling mods, it's owner error. If you buy everything you need and get a good conservative tune, you'll be fine.
