So, I've got my HFCs and CBE installed... and even though I swore off any further modding (outside of drop in filters and post-MAF tubes), now I'm seriously considering forced induction.

I checked this thread, but I couldn't find a definitive answer. Maybe I just wasn't using the right criteria, but here's the question:

I know Fast Intentions sells a separate, 3" diameter exhaust and a lower cell count HFC for forced induction applications. Given that I have the Berk HFCs and the TDX (2.5" diameter) exhaust, would it be necessary to redo my exhaust system from the headers back if I went this route?

As an added question... any wisdom on SC vs. TT? I'm not after monstrous power; a moderate increase and preserved reliability are more my speed.

You'll get a thousand different opinions on this stuff.

Given your "moderate increase and preserved reliability", I'd choose the SC route. There are also far less exhaust complications (routing, diameter, flow rate, etc) with an SC than TT. Just keep in mind that any FI kit, no matter how mild and CARB-approved and all that, will reduce the reliability of the car and the life of the engine. It's just a question of how much.

This^^^^^.
A SC needs a bit of back pressure and won't burn up your nice Berks. There haven't been any issues with aftermarket CBE's on a SC setup compared to TT's where restrictions start to occur once hp levels start reaching 550whp. Things just get more expensive after that anyways.

A great book to get with tons of useful info to apply in making these decisions:

Forced Induction Performance Tuning A Practical Guide to Supercharging and Turbocharging: A. Bell: 9781859606919: Amazon.com: Books

Considerable detail on intercooling, exhaust design, etc. A bible for guys going FI.
