Default SC/TT pros and cons

I'm wondering what would be better for a goal of no more than 500-550whp.

I understand generally TT is the way to go for big power but with the GTM stage 2 SC it looks like our cars can hit 500whp just as easily as with a TT.

I know that TT has lots more low-end torque...but is there any point to that other than bragging rights when you can't even use that power in 1st or 2nd gear?

Other than what I already mentioned is there any reason to get a TT kit over an SC given the SC is generally cheaper?

I have 516rwhp with GTM stage 1.5 SC which gives better low and mid range tq than stage 2

Either TT or SC 1st and 2nd gears are a waste.

Neither of them are cheap,

Study the dyno graphs between the two so you can really get an idea how power comes on. Also keep in mind heat and existing mods. TT's will always win the numbers game, and keep in mind, those TT's kick on in the other 4 gears too. Who says you have to launch it to have fun? There is a wealth of information. Start researching if you serious about it, then call/email to the Company who makes what you want. They can help further determine which choice is right for you.

Would the GTM Twin SC produce more Torque than either Stage 1 or Stage 1.5 SC's?

Not sure yet. Work will start on mine before month's end. I'm sure results will be within a month or two after.

TQ is basically peak cylinder pressure and there are alott of variables that go into achieving that ,if TQ is your main consern then TT will produce more TQ than SC.

Glad to see more interested in FI for the Z, first do a run down of the known finished builds and see what you like and who did what. Forced Induction Finished Builds
After that, start a budget, purpose of build, etc. and see where you end up (mainly on budget). Once that is done you can really get into what is best for you, either system would be great (TT or SC or even single T).

And above all remember, no matter what you budget it will cost you more.

All of the above. Call everybody that makes a FI kit and talk to them. Also, decide what kind of dyno you want that 500whp to be on. There can be a huge difference in what you need to hit 500whp on some Dynojets vs. some Mustangs. What kind of gas do you have access to? That'll have some impact on what setup you would need to hit 500whp.

See if any of the guys in your area have similar setups and bribe them with a six pack for a ride. Plan for the build to take 50% more time and money than you originally thought, and allow for that in your plan. If you don't spend it all that's fine, but it beats running out of money in mid-build. Whether you decide to go with a TT or SC setup, budget in the necessary supporting mods.
