Default Custom Ecutek Remote Tunning by Eugene Turkov

I have owned my 40th anniversary 370z since 2012. I Enjoyed my z stock for over a year and then decided to get it supercharged together with a slight cosmetic makeover. (Pic 1)

Initially, I went with the Stillen Supercharger Kit and a custom UpRev tune with E85 support. The car made around 420 whp/310 wtq. After enjoying these changes for a couple of years I decided upgrade to the Top Gun Speedworks A2A version 1 kit along with a fuel return system, new fuel pump, Ecutek tuning software, 928 motorsport impeller upgrade, and speed density tuning strategy. The car made around 518 whp/ 380 wtq.
Although the whp/wtq numbers were high, the car never felt like a 500 whp car. So, I decided to get Eugene’s help (from vq37tt.com) in getting the car retuned. I did logs while driving the car per his instructions and sent him the logs. After reviewing the logs, he sent me a new custom tune and asked me to provide more log files which included various types of driving including the same type of acceleration one would normally be doing on a dyno. After 3 more tune revisions the car really feels like a supercharged car. I seldomly go into boost in city driving condition. With my previous tune the car lagged the acceleration at low gears. Now the car feels a lot alive in first and second gear without going into boost.
Throughout the process Eugene explained all the details about what he was doing and constantly asking me feedback on how the car feels. Even though I messed up a couple of times in loading the correct tune but he still helped me out without getting upset.

As part of the custom tune, Eugene adjusted many tables and implemented several custom functions from scratch using log data I provided, including a High-Resolution custom fuel map based on Engine load and RPM that he shared with me as shown below. It takes into account injection correction and other factors. Throughout the tuning process Eugene was sharing with me what he was doing and giving me opportunities to see inside the tune and to learn how the log data I was collecting was related to the tune changes he was making. (Pic 2, Pic 3)

Based on how my vehicle was configured, Eugene chose to provide me with a hybrid MAF/SD tune, that means when the MAF sensor maxes out at high RPM, ( the gap between the green and blue line, speed density (yellow line) takes over as shown in the below graph. This hybrid tune is what makes the car come alive in the lower gear due to more precise load calculations which result in the ability to define the ideal ignition timing and fueling more accurately. (Pic 4, Pic 5)

Overall, I am very happy with the car but Eugene still thinks the car can run better so he wants me to log another 500mb of data for him to review.
Last year I was thinking about selling my Z but after thinking about all the money that I have spent in the car over the last 10 years, I decided to get it retune by Eugene and see if it changes anything. I am glad I made the right call. Now I am planning to keep this car for life.

Glad to hear! I've used both Seb and Eugene and Eugene "digs" much deeper to tune your car! Time and money well spent.

Better put your extra money to the side with that 928 upgrade.

928 modifications were done in 2016. so far after 40k miles and countless dyno run and log pull it is still holding good. although the supercharger does leak small amount of oil. It's about time I change the oil seal in the SC.
It all depends on the tuner and his skills in getting the most out of the mods. If the tuner is good, he knows how far he can push the mods without a disaster.

I had the 928 "Super Vortech" upgrade on my V3. One of the vanes broke off the impeller and got sucked into the blower. Had to have the blower rebuilt. Carl at 928 wouldn't stand by his product. That's just my experience with 928
