Default Max Boost Pressure

So.. just curious how your tuners are tuning for max boost pressure.

I'm in Tucson my elevation is around 3400 ft and Atmospheric pressure varies from 12.8-14.7 depending on the day.

When your tuners are tuning for target boost are they going from MAP pressure? Or whatever it is over Atmospheric pressure?

For example my spring pressure might be set to 5lbs. I'm seeing about 5-6 lbs on my standalone gauge. Which has a correction factor to account for the atmospheric pressure.

But on my MAP it reads at +4 lbs. I tell my tuner i'm seeing 7 lbs. And he says I'm only seeing 4lbs.

This little bit of variance isn't going to matter much but when i'm getting into 15 psi it can be variable of 13 to 17 psi depending on the day. And when i see 17 psi on my stock block is when i start to piddle a little.

Am i over thinking this? Or should I only worry about MAP pressure?

They tune off the MAP sensor.
