Supercharging question

Hey ya'll. I have a 2013 370Z with about 40k miles. I'm looking into getting the SOHO Motorsports A2A kit. From what I've read online, the VHR can withstand 650whp?

Default Supercharging question

Hey ya'll. I have a 2013 370Z with about 40k miles. I'm looking into getting the SOHO Motorsports A2A kit. From what I've read online, the VHR can withstand 650whp? The kit supposedly gives you around 630whp. Would yall recommend for me to build the engine? If so, what EXACTLY would I need? Very costly I know, but I'm really curious as to what will have to go in this besides Pistons/Rods/Cams/possibly Pulleys etc. Let me know! Thanks.

That might be pushing the limits of a stock engine. It seems around 500 ft-lbs of torque is around the limit if you want reliability, and if you are adding power you wanna use it and not worry about breaking down. So depending on what you wanna use that power for, either build the block or dial it down a little, I’m at around 450 ft-lbs right now to be safe on a stock engine, it’s a blast to drive.

I'm at 540WHP/450WTQ and it is plenty for a street cruiser and safe for engine from my research. I have E-85 and ID 1300 Injectors so I know it could get dialed up some more. This power level is just where we stopped with the tuning and dyno rental. Honestly haven't felt the need to crank it up any further.

Frank is on the Topgun Rotrex kit and he could easily crank that thing up far past 700whp with more fuel. Although, you do want a built block for anything over 500wtq as stated above.

If going with the Soho kit you will need E85 and run without a filter to get much past 600whp. I think their kit on 93 makes a little past 500whp with a filter.

Yeah this car is strictly a street vehicle. Pulls here and there, I just want the power because I KNOW I HAVE IT lol. I was thinking about just dialing it down as you mentioned, but I'll need the willpower not wanting to crank it all the way up! I just want to be in the low to mid 500's in terms of WHP. I'll be happy with that. So if you're at 450 ft-lbs, how much WHP do you have? Sounds like a stupid question, but when it comes to tuning and how power is calculated, my mind explodes.

I’m at 542whp, I have a TT kit, but same principal for what the stock engine can handle.

without a filter would be what around 14-15 psi? is there a way to limit max boost but not impact boost on lower rpms? example- with filter i assume you get less boost at red line but also less boost over the entire rev range.
