Are upgraded MAFs required?

Default Are upgraded MAFs required?

I am currently running a supercharged A to A setup with Uprev tuning and stock OEM MAFs that are nearly maxed out. As Uprev doesn't offer speed density tuning could I get any more power with Uprev's upgraded MAFs with another tune along with a 4 Bar OMNI MAP sensor?

UpRev does do anything with the MAP sensor, its all MAF based. If you really are getting close to maxing out the EOM MAF sensors, you can always adjust the fuel compensation table based on the wideband readings. Though upgrading MAFs and having the MAF tables scaled according would be the easier route.

This is why most high power cars here got to Ecutek so they can do a hybrid MAF/MAP tuning.

A hybrid is always a bad choice, you should tune either solely on MAF or MAP. EcuTek and HPTuners can do a speed denisty( aka MAP based tune ) where all three( UpRev, EcuTek, HPTuners ) can do a MAF based tune. The stock MAFs can easily support 500 rwhp. The aftermarket MAFs( especially the AAM Competition and UpRev GT ) can easily support 700+ rwhp. Unless you are in an environment where conditions can drastically or you move around to different locations, a MAF based tune will be just fine.

Thanks very much for your advice. I wish I had more choices of tuners here in Australia and more than one here that does Ecutek for the 370Z platform.

Any info to back up what you are saying? Do you have experience in tuning cars?

Been tuning and using hybrid SD on Ecutek for over 3-4 years with no issues. It's perfectly fine to do and is the best of both worlds.

That is what I thought also. Only time you would need to go full speed density is if you install a CJM Billet intake manifold.
