Default upgrade stock fans while doing the radiator?

Gents,

So do to some life changes I am able to keep my Z and not have to sell it! woohooo....that being said....I ran the car this month and have had some serious heat issues with the stock radiator so I am upgrading to the Mishimoto radiator...I'm told there is no need to upgrade the stock fans but should I just do it anyway since im going to have the front end off anyways? Trying to see what other people have done for their setup

thanks in advance gents

I wouldn’t recommend touching the radiator. All Mishimoto parts are crap. The better alternative is the CSF but they’ve been having serious leaking issues. Get some hood vents or something to help dissipate the heat and leave the stock radiator.

Didn't Koyo recently come out with a radiator for the Z?

For heat reduction your best beat is to get some Trackspec vents for the hood. You need more airflow.

You should take a look at this thread before going ahead with your plans: Radiator: CSF or Mishimoto?

Change to Water and Redline Waterwetter. But if you have freezing temps you would need to change it out for winter.

Strange I have ran a CSF radiator and condenser on all the Z’s I have had and have never had any issues with leaking and saw a slight improvement in cooling ability. I would never run Mishimoto anything on my Z though just my preference as their products are made in China. I have used Redline water before it works well but I still would recommend using it with Genuine Nissan 50/50 blue coolant and never run straight water as it can form rust in your engine block with time. The Koyo radiator works well from what I have seen you just have to make provision for a condenser if you still want air conditioning in your Z. I would only upgrade to a high efficient dual fan set up if you are currently running forced induction.

What size engine oil cooler are you currently running? Any plans to run a vented hood or vented hood cut outs?

34/19 row oil coolers and CSF triple-pass radiator along with Mishimoto/Nismo thermostat (personally prefer the Nismo one) will serve you well. Nevertheless you can also upgrade your fan to SPAL one if you are running twin turbo setup. Hopefully it addresses your concerns satisfactorily.

Well I am going to put in the hood vents and see how that goes for now...still bought the Mishimoto radiator as I will try to put that in when I have to pull the front off another time... never had a problem with Mishimoto parts in the past so hopefully this doesnt fail me in the future either...thanks for the input gents
