MAF Relocation questions
I am about to relocate my mafs primarily so I can move the stillen heat exchange out from being sandwiched between the hot radiator and hot Setraub oil cooler where it currently doesnt get much air...stupid Stillen design. Anyway, I have a few questions.
1) There are two hoses leading from the poorly designed boot on the front of SC, one goes to a "T" then to the engine and the other goes to the BPV. The one that goes to the "T" what do I do...put an air filter on it? And if so, anyone have a filter part number? 2) The hose going to the BPV is just removed and let the BPV vent to air? Isn't there a very small window of opportunity for something to get sucked into the intake if there is no filter on there too? What if the BPV gets stuck open, could it suck something in? 3) Should i get uprev gt mafs? What about better map sensor? Both? Thanks in advance for any info/Z/ Last edited by imazman; 10-11-2017 at 09:18 PM. |

If I were you I would just go with TopgunZ A2A system and be done with it. Easy install and places the MAFs where they need to be. After that get a remote tune from Seb along with the GTR MAP sensor.

What are you trying to accomplish by relocating the mafs? If your goal is to be able to push the supercharger harder, the last two guys (that I know of) that did this, one ended up needing a new engine and the other went A2A about a month later and wish he had saved the time/money from the get go.

I'm not really trying to push it harder...yet...but just want to get some consistency in behavior. It is getting heat soaked, and i think it is due to the fact that the heat exchanger is sandwiched between the radiator and the oil cooler and air isnt really hitting the heat exchanger like it should.
Someday i would love to get your kit, but now isnt the time just yet. So in the mean time if i could dump the y pipe, move the heat exchanger over to driver side i think i could get better cooling for about $1000 ($350x2 gt mafs + $80 maf pads + $200 welder). I know its not much more for your kit but im stretching to reach $1000 so $1450 is out of reach right now. |

I would save up and go with the A2A kit. What you are purposing will not solve your problem with heat soak. The heat soak is designed into the stock Stillen system.
You might do better to replace the heat exchanger with a Frozen boost one but the real problem lies in the intake manifold with a tiny, very restrictive intercooler. If you relocate the MAFs (the stock ones work just fine) you will need a retune and that is a fairly large expense too. Seb has the A2A system dialed in and his base tune is awesome. When he gets it completely tuned it will behave just like the stock car but with WAY more power. Good luck with your venture, just remember we are running a very good SAFE boost system that is well worth the money. You get what you pay for.

Yes, and the added power and responsiveness compliments the safety feature nicely.

I would listen to these guys... Figure out a way to get the A2A kit and enjoy the boost. As they said, you could cost yourself a lot more money experimenting.
