Default New Car Warranty

I just purchased a new 370z sport model. I am very interested in buying a supper charger, most likely a stillen. My problem is that the SC will void my warranty. I guess this is a question for the dealer. I have a 100K extended warranty. I'm thinking of putting around 20K on the car, and getting most any possible infantile failures out, and taking a chance.

Another question is if you do the SC , will the stillen performance pipes inhance performance, or is the HP gain significant?

I would like to get a stillen installation manual before purchasing the unit. Maybe if I call them , they will send me the manual. I have read a lot of posts, and don't see where I can download it.

A few quick web searches will find the answers to all the questions you asked. Several threads discussing each question on this site alone. If the site's search feature isn't finding what you want, go to any major web search engine and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

You can download the manual off of their website. Just go to the ordering page and the link is there. I did that before I ordered mine.

I will check their web site, I was on it and did not see the link for the manual - thanks. The term "a lot" is a qualitative term, maybe a lot wasn't enough. I did learn enough not to mess with the basics stillen design, and programmed tunning, if you want reliability.

If your going fi you may just go ahead and have them give you a credit because it will void your warranty. Keep in mind too going forced induction is a long road traveled and will get costly..

Pretty much the 100% exact opposite of what you typed. You absolutely have to get a custom tune, and the kit as shipped is a motor failure waiting to happen. Look into the air-to-air conversion being put together here if you want the kit to be reliable. As the kit ships, the ecu gets the intake air temp reading before the supercharger, so it never has a clue how hot the actual intake charge is. That's a recipe for disaster. The only real reason to go with a Stillen kit as it is sold by Stillen is if you need the CARB cert. Otherwise, change out the intercooler setup or look into the BP turbo kit.

Here is the link to the installation instructions.

https://www.stillen.com/media/PDF/407770~inst.pdf

There is also a very detailed supplemental instructions that are available. Just do a forum search on Stillen SC.

I found the manual, seems like straight forward installation, not too much butchering.

Yea pretty much the engine warranty will be voided, probably wait till 33K.

I here ya on the temp. sensor, but I would think the engineers that designed the unit / firmware, would use consevative calculations or safety factor to compensate, the whole PV=NRT thing. well have to wait, don't want to take a chance. thanks for the info.

You would think so, but that's not the case. There are a lot of guys here with blown motors on the stock stillen kit.
