Default 3 M protection for my 370Z

Hi, I am looking to install the 3 M protection on the front of my 370 Z and would appreciate some feed back from the people that have used it. Also, is there any members from the Boise , Idaho area on the forum that could direct me to a good installer. I don't want to go through the dealer , I think I can get a better price going direct. I appreciate the help.

Definitely worth getting done! bumper, hood and mirrors.
Honestly if I had to do it again, i'd go the whole rocker panel as well, but mostly cause I drive mine all year around and we put down gravel on the hwys.

Its a must do if you want to keep your car looking good. Nissan paint chips if you give it a dirty look.

Do it. Look into Xpel film. It is self healing.

Yup. Xpel.
I haven't been paying much attention but I seem to recall reading somewhere that 3M now has their equivalent to Xpel. You should be looking into that since that is what you'd want rather than the original stuff 3M offered.

I had Xpel applied across the front, both front fenders, A pillars, mirrors, full hood, rocker panels and a strip behind the rear wheel wells. You wouldn't know it's there unless you knew where to look. Beads water insanely.

I had the 3M clear bra put on the first week, looks great still after 8 months in the Florida sun. Make sure to tape the edges when you wax the car, this way the edge won't collect dust.
I think it's a must have, I got the mirrors, front fenders, hood and front bumper done.

I got the 3M back in August last year? I got the bumper, and partial hood, partial mirror and fenders. I would've liked getting the whole hood done at the time but after having it done the line across the hood really isn't very noticeable at all and I'm totally happy with it

Yup, well it helps being located at head quarters here in San Antonio and also having them be sponsors to our Nismo Fiesta. Call and talk to David. He'll see if he has any specials.

Another vote for getting PPF done! After resisting paint protection for years, I had my first 370Z done when I got in in 2011. On it, I just had the front bumper done, and was shocked how well it worked. (Daily driving on I-77 and I-485 in Charlotte area, some days they might as well be gravel roads as many ^%*(&%* rocks fly around) Not just in protection from stone chips & dings, but also how much easier it was to clean bug-guts off the nose, too. It's nice not to have to worry about the bug-guts etching the paint if I didn't wash them off daily either! One thing I came to regret on the first Z was that I didn't do the hood...as I slowly watched the paint on the front half of the hood turn into swiss cheese while the protected bumper remained pristine.

When I got the new Z a couple months ago, I had the bumper, entire hood, headlights, and upper front quarters all done. Came out awesome! If anyone in CLT wants this done, Sunstoppers (aka Autoshield Carolinas) on Independence does awesome work. They've done tint on all my vehicles for years, and PPF on both Zs and my Jeep as well. Good guys!

The 3M stuff is excellent. A very worthwhile addition. Yes it protects against rock chips, but for me the big deal is that bugs just wipe off with a little detail spray or waterless wash, and they don't stain the clear coat.

XPEL ultimate FTW. Have my whole hood, whole bumper, mirrors and a 6inch strip on the roof done.
