Default Suggestions please - repaint bumper or touch up paint

This is on my front bumper, car has less than 3000 miles on it. Nissan is willing to repaint the entire front bumper and they are allowing me to pick a good shop. Some recommend that I try touch up, something like Dr Color Chip, or Langka. I been reading a lot about touch up, I think I know that while it may not look as good as new, it may look decent.

Bottom line, what do you guys think, anyone that has taken the bumper off and had it repainted professionally, any regrets?

what happened/...manufacturer problem must be since Nissan is willing to do the job, just an FYI that carfax will show this as an issue when you try to resell it, it happened to me when I fixed a ding on my previous ride and the shop had to report it to carfax...

Why are you asking us about what you should do. Nissan said they will pay for it.

Nissan agrees its a manufacturer defect, it just showed up less than 2 months after I bought the car... I am somewhat reluctant to do it though, for various reasons so I was looking for feedback from anyone that has repainted a front bumper. Curious if paint will match, worried about car fax, then I gotta have the clear bra put back on it, which Nissan will cover. Guess I am trying to educate myself before making a decision.

Just had my bumper repainted. (raccoon hit) Looks very shiny and a good color match. With 47,000 miles on the car, it makes me want to repaint the chipped hood, to be honest.

Nice, that is what I am leaning towards. Was it a full bumper removed and professionally re done job? Sounds like you are happy with results, which is great!

Is the color PW? It is gonna be hard to match being a 3 stage paint. I suppose if the shop would guarantee the match, get it repainted. Otherwise I would try dr color chip or something similar first and see if your are happy with it. Then get the dealer to compensate you financially.

IMO, it would look terrible if the paint doesn't match. The bumper is big and be very noticeable from afar. GL.

I didn't mean too come across as a **** or *** hole. Ask Nissan if they have a preferred body shop. Don't accept your vehicle back unless it is done right, paint matches everything. If it's not don't accept I don't think that your issue will be on a Carfax report.

Thank you and no worries! This is good feedback, I honestly did not know what to do. Goes without saying, at first Nissan completely blew it off, said it was road wear and tear. After some debating, they agreed to pay for it and for the clear bra. At first they were gonna send me to some cheap place to have it done, but they relented and let me use a really good outfit, Kuni Collision Center, which is right across the street from the dealership too.

It will be a hassle if I get the bumper redone, I gotta wait for 30 days after that before I get the clear bra back on it, but that is the only way to get the car done right, and that chip on the paint is getting worse... for sure.

I like your take of not accepting the car back unless done right, and great to know that this will not be a Carfax flag!

Reviving an old thread, hoping for some suggestions from pain knowledgeable members. Nissan agreed to "fix" my bumper, so they sent it to a very reputable local shop. The idea was they will repaint the whole thing, but they ended up blending it. I was pretty annoyed by it, but when I went to check it out, it actually looks great. I am super picky and have a rough idea of flaws to look for, cannot find any... Nissan will cover the bumper with clear bra, so please keep that in mind.

My question - should I take car as is and have them do the clear bra, or should I at least get them to apply a clear coat over the entire bumper, or what do you guys think? Worried that eventually the blending job will starting looking bad.
