Has anyone ever touched up or repainted their plastic interior panels? Is there a color that matches best? Im considering repainting my rear strut cover panels.

I've never done the Z, but I have repainted some interior pieces on other vehicles. It was pretty hard to match from what I remember. Also, while it does take out the white scratches it doesn't really get rid of the disfiguration of the surface pattern. So you can still kinda see the scratch was there.

Try a company called SEM, they make really good dye's that come almost spot on to factory colors. They are available in aerosol cans. You can get it at auto body supply stores, possibly online.

I'm pretty particular, never have found a paint or dye to be a perfect match.
However,I'd think a pro shop could match pretty well.Don't know about large pieces. I have used carbon fiber covers in parts of my interior to give it a different look. They are pretty easy to install over any surface.Got mine through ZCF. |

i also hear SEM is good stuff. i have a can, but haven't had the time to paint the interior yet.
also a good preventative thing to do is to dress some PrimaNero while your car is new onto the panels. it reduces the plastic from catching to reduce scuffs. i use it 50/50 dilluted in water. amazon has it, most detailing shops have it. i have zero scuffs on the door panels, etc on all my cars even though they get kicked often. but the dumbarse smog check goof scratched up my a-pillar a while back. i didnt dress any on the a-pillar. gotta always look out for stupid. |

I bought a can of black dye from autozone awhile back. Black is definitely not the right color. Gonna try a more grey tone this week to see if it makes a difference.

No after trying the dark grey crap and called it quits all together. Paid $170 shipped for the panels. Not great but at least I know they'll be in perfect condition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
