Window auto up down issue.
So occasionally when I close my driver side door I notice the window hitting the car frame. Fortunately I closed it gently. So earlier I tried the reset method. Set window down held it down for 10 seconds then same in the up position.
Got out of the car closed door and found a huge gap meaning window was cracked open. So I open the door and close it again , the window drops even lower. So the more I open and close the door the lower the glass sits. Any advise please ? Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

Did you do the reset with the door fully closed? Try it with the engine running, too, in case a weak battery is running out of juice while you hold down the button. It's possible the window isn't aligned correctly (as in, someone needs to pull open the inside of the door and loosen the screws on the glass and adjust the in/out and front/back tilt of the glass), but that would be unusual if nobody's been working on the door area (car audio installer was in there recently and messed with things he shouldn't have?) and you haven't been in a wreck or something.

I will try the 10 seconds holding down and up with car running in a moment.
I also noticed when I did the driver side door held down for 10 seconds, then after releasing the switch it would not go back up again for a few seconds. perhaps even longer? Need the windows up, dont want to suddenly have a cockroach running around causing me to crash when I am driving. EDIT: I followed the instructions and it seemed to have worked. Auto up doesnt work on passanger side, I am assuming this is normal? Last edited by Limeybastard; 05-09-2014 at 10:26 PM. |

Auto up should work on both sides, if the position is reset properly. That's actually how you tell if you've done the procedure right (after e.g. disconnecting the battery) - after you're done, auto up works if you completed it successfully, and doesn't if you didn't.
Give the other statements you've made, I wouldn't be surprised if your battery is weak/dying or you have some other electrical issue going on. You might want to get that checked out at some point as well. |

I think OP needs to stop making threads/try try again. OP, you can HEAR the motor reset, slight clicking noise, once you hear it, go back up and hold. Don't OVER-do it, which is what I suspect you're doing. The window hitting isn't a window reset issue it's a shitty Nissan issue, mine used to not hit. Then water and wind would come in, after 3-4 window motors, now they do hit, no water, but some wind above 100 and on turns where I push it out. Given the problems you have had with the car, drive it off a cliff. I smell that you will become me very soon... PISSED OFF you didn't buy a Lexus... Nissan ranks 29th out of 33 in initial quality. Infiniti ranks 4th. There's a reason, now you know. (As an FYI, Nissan has never been able to fix window motors/regulators, crank sensors and fuel sending units, so expect to replace all of those at least once during the life of the car [they might have fixed crank sensor issues since 350/G35 days])

This happened to me recently (and also freaked me out -- I thought the motor had failed!)
Just follow the window reset procedure in the owner's manual and you should be fine Oh, be sure to hold both buttons to reset both windows!

Try doing the buttons at the same time, not one at a time.
