Just randomly?
Did you possibly push the recirculate button? Or could something have hit it?

I don't like this feature, but it is the case.

i dont mind it cause i have the a/c running all the time in auto mode. ive had a/c fail on a previous car due to not enough use. so in the days it's too cold to run a/c, i run the car in defrost mode cause it kicks the a/c on and keep things circulating.

At first I thought it was me hitting it while shifting and I was like wtf is wrong with lol. Then I was driving, windowns down and both my hands on the steering wheel and it will turn on automatically and as soon as I turned it off it did it again 4 times on a row. Then after a while it kept on doing to the point that I was like screw this, im closing my windows and driving with the AC on is 70 degrees out either way. But I still have to see if it occurs again.

Since nobody seems to know what's wrong, here's what I would try if it were happening to me:
1) Read through the Owner's Manual and make sure I'm pushing the right buttons and turning the right knobs. The HVAC controls in the Z aren't exactly intuitive. 2) Search for a reset procedure for the HVAC. Usually some "weird" combination of holding switches, cycling power, &c. This should put everything back to factory defaults. Edit: May not exist. 3) Kill the power to the HVAC controls for a few minutes to reset it. May require disconnecting the battery and resetting the ECM, BCM, etc. 4) Take it to a dealer.
