Plastic dip rear diffuser
Tried to do this today, looked great until I went to remove the masking tape. Tape pulled the plastidip in several places. Basically fubar the whole thing so I pulled it all off.
Any suggestions on the masking part to keep this from happening again, really liked the flat black look against the Silver of the car. Thanks Jim |

Lots of threads on this..
Before the last coat, you have to spray and re-wet the edge of the tape that you are about to peel.. I have a couple youtube videos on this. I also have a few pictures in my album. Good thing is, when you mess up, its only a couple bucks and 10 minutes of your time.

Nick, are you saying
to rewet the edge and then spray a final coat and remove the tape right away.
Thanks Jim Quote:

Thanks, from what I here the EVO R CF cover does not fit all that well. Most of the post on this site are saying to get the fugirama (I know spelled wrong)
Going out tomorrow to buy some more dip, vinyl tap that curves and some thinner to re-wet tears and will try again. rg Jim |

what you are supposed to do is peel the tape off when the dip is still wet this way it leaves a perfect line
pretty much, get your 4 layers of dip on as fast and cleanly as you can, then while it is still wet, peel back the tape and let the dip dry
