Default Mid rear light?

2009 base with sport. Wondering what the plastic lens in middle is for? If not wired for light, should I wire it? Is it a fog light like on our Audi? ive tried the switch in all positions and nothing.

Also going to do the sound abatement as illustrated in a lengthy thread, is there anything else I should do while all the hatch area and door panels are opened?

Many threads on this subject. You can buy the rear fog light and install it but there isn't one in there.

It's for a fog light... it's not an option on US models. What switch are you talking about? There is an OEM fog light switch you can purchase (it goes in the blanks by the cupholder - between the switches for the seat heaters if you have a touring model), but again, it does not come as an option for US models.

True but not worth the cost. Follow many of the DIY's in this forum to wire your own.

I was just wondering what switch he was referring to. You're absolutely right - the OEM switch is outrageously expensive. I have mine wired to the parking lights.

i opted for the nissan fog light and switch, the black switch between the heated seat switches was driving me crazy. expensive mod for such little return but it looks really clean to me. no regrets
