Default Question about key fob sensor in vehicle

So I recently pulled out all of my interior other then the dash and the carpet but since then, my car sometimes cannont sense the fob in the car. When I go to start it, it says fob not found. Sometimes it will find it but 85% of the time no. If I put it in the fob port, it starts up no problem.

Just wondering where the sensor is and what I removed to make it do this lol. Thanks in advance.

Sorry mods if this is in the wrong section.

I read somewhere that the antenna for the fob is located near the hand break?

I'll try to find that thread

Edit: Here you go look at post 5

Also make sure the battery on the fob is good to start off

In addition to what Trips said, look in the FSM. And there is more than one antenna.

a member here had a similar issue and turns out he forgot to plug a harness back in. Double check your work.

Chris, I've had the exact same issue!- Key FOB problem

Does your car have a steering lock? I think my problem was due to the fact I pulled the steering lock fuse. After I put it back in and replaced the steering lock I have had zero issues.

* Ok nvm, you have a 2012.. don't think you have a steering lock. So I'm assuming the antenna wire under the center consul isn't in all the way. that is so strange though... I had the same issue for the past 7 months, but after I put the fuse back in and replaced the lock I haven't had any problems.

Sorry no response all. What Trips linked was the correct thing. I still have my interior torn out since I'm still running some wires for the nitrous. I can actually set my key where the center console is and it reads every time. I wondered why if the key was in my right pocket that sometimes it read. Was just wondering where the actual sensor was. Thanks all!
