Can you wire it so that it 1) goes on when my rear lights are on. 2) lights up brighter when the brakes are on and 3) make it flash

On the EVO-R light there are three wires: Red (Steady On), White (Blinking), and Black (Ground) On the car there are four wires in the left (Driver's Side) tail light harness that could be used: Green (Brake), Red (Taillights), Orange (Reverse) and Black (Ground) If you put power (12V) to the WHITE wire on the EVO-R light, the light will blink. If you put power (12V) to the RED wire on the EVO-R light, it will burn Steady Black is the Ground Wire on both Car and EVO-R light wiring. You will need to connect the Black Wire on the EVO-R light to the Black Wire in the Tail light's Harness regardless of what else you do with the other wires. SO... 1, If you want the light to blink on Braking, Connect the WHITE EVO-R wire to the GREEN Tail Light Harness wire 2. If you want the light to Blink on Reverse, Connect the WHITE EVO-R wire to the ORANGE Tail Light Harness wire 3. If you want the light to burn Steady on Parking Lights On, then Connect the RED EVO-R wire to the RED Tail Light Harness wire |

I have my EVO-R light to:
Come ON with my regular lights. BLINK when I brake. It only can be On, and Blink. It does not have 2 brightness settings sadly.

And wire the Blink wire to Reverse. Yes, it comes on with my lights, and blinks on Any braking. Day/Night.

which you can get from a hardware store. Grindkiezer's post explains it pretty well, the evo-r light has three different wires. The red wire is what makes the light stay on, so if you connect it to your parking light wire *which is also a red wire*, it'll stay on with your headlights & tailights. The white wire causes the light to blink, so you connect to the wire for the reverse light *orange wire*. Lastly black is just a grounding wire so you connect it to the black wire in your taillight harness. You can access the harness after you remove the center rear plastic panel and either the left or right side panel that covers the rear shock mounting areas. FYI I had very little experience with electrical/wiring prior to doing this myself so it's really not too bad ![]() Last edited by scionide; 06-11-2013 at 06:40 PM. |

Your "Brake" lights have 2 separate wires going to them. One is for your "ON" setting with your headlights, etc. The other is the "STOP" setting that only comes on with your brake applied. You simply tap the wire you want the fog light to come on with. ![]()
