Default Password JDM - Beware

Hello everyone,
I would like to share some experiences with Password JDM - quite amusing..

So I bought their Shift Knob, it is a 2 piece shift knob with the top part as 1 peice and the bottom part as the second piece which is used to cover up the shift boot. Second piece screws on to the first. See picture below.

So the shift knob arrived defective, thread pattern is all messed up so the bottom piece won't screw on to the top.

I bought it from Ebay through "Third Gear Performance" and when I told them it was broken, they told me to contact Password JDM myself.. Really? LOL sure whatever I contacted them and they said they will send me a replacement. I sent the broken one back and they sent me a replacement (took 2 weeks). Guess what? I opened the package and it was what I sent to them... WTF you serious? I told them what the problem was and they just sent the broken one back...

Now I am trying to contact them and they are ignoring me. So, beware of Password JDM if you receive a broken product.

Some more like it's an issue with the seller, not the manufacturer. There will always be a percentage of defective items with any product you buy. The seller need to stand by what they are selling not pawn it of on the manufacturer. You probably shouldn't bash Password JDM, until they fail to step up.

You can however bash the seller because they did not take care of you.

To be fair, this is far from the first instance of PWJDM parts being shoddy. More than a few people have CF underhood parts from them that rub and don't fit right?

Yes the seller should stand by their product. But Password JDM was the one whom gave the seller the shift knob I sent back. Password JDM was also the one told me to ship it back and they will take care of it... So the seller didn't really do much, but the balls were in the manufacture's hands for sending me what I sent them again and stopped communicating with me afterwards.

I have the PWJDM dry carbon brake and battery covers and they have been great. Only issue is now the door is gone, so I would have to remove my hood strut just to get to the battery terminals.

A retailer referring customers to the manufacturer is not uncommon, actually. Mainly because the reseller is not equipped to provide any warranty support. Most things sold at walmart, for example, say to contact the manufacturer and to NOT send the item back to walmart because it's actually faster and less headache to deal with the manufacturer themselves.

I don't know about less of a headache, having the receipt and standing in the return line and swapping it out is pretty easy.

You wouldn't happen to have the link to the ebay seller would you? The great thing about ebay is item description. As a seller you have to be very specific in what you say about the product and returns. I bought a car from a guy one time on ebay and he said runs like a new car. Guess what a day later it did not. I notified ebay and paypal and a couple days later he was paying for the repairs. Just doesn't sound like a good seller if he told you to contact the manufacturer. He sold you a defective product, you return the defective product and he gives you new one, simple. You weren't trouble shooting the damn thing. Post up the link if you don't mind.
