Seibon CF wing install.. Opinions on paint, please!
I got this last week. Still contemplating paint. I know, it is CF, meant to show it off. But on a Gunmetal car, I'm not entirely sure if it is too much or not. What I was thinking was maybe paint match the top of the wing and leave the sides as is to get the CF accent or paint match the sides and leave the deck as is. Or do nothing and install the freakin' thing. I'm just trying to avoid that "rice" or "tacked on" look.
I don't mind CF, hence the reason I paid good money for it, but all the while wondering if it was too much carbon for a gunmetal colored car. I love the gunmetal color which is why I still stuck with it after my last car. Just a freakin' pain in the rear to color coordinate. I'm thinking with the Stillen front fascia going on in a week that will be color matched with the entire middle section a matte black it will help to offset the wing and balance everything nicely. But I am completely open to suggestions or opinions as I want this to be a clean and balanced looking install. Thanks in advance! |

I'm leaving mine unpainted. Ditto on getting a diffuser to complement the look.

Yeah I was thinking the EVO-R CF diffuser would round it out nicely too. But that is a couple months away. I hope I can get away with this until then. Thanks for the suggestions.

It's not the wing that's too much, it's the lack of mods/wheels/drop that makes it look a lil weird.
Get the former sorted out and it wont look out of place on your car at all

Leave it! I just wish there was a nice cf diffuser (a real one) to go with it.
Can you imagine these (see attached) to go with that spoiler? (Ya I know, I've beaten this rear diffuser horse to death already) Why spend the price of a other mod to cover up cf?

Totally agree with you all. I kept looking at the pics and was like, there is no way in hell this wing is going on anytime soon. But, in the end I'm thinking it'll get painted anyway. It's ok. I don't mind. Seibon made a great fitting part. That's what I care about.
And yes, the car needs a drop which is going to come in July. Then quite possibly the Forgestar F14 wheels, then the Amuse rear cover, exhaust, and then, finally, the wing will be installed as a paint matched piece. And somewhere in there my OSG LSD install. A lot to do. Think I just screwed up one night when I was drinking and ordering crap at random. lol. Still got what I wanted but just sooner than needed. |
